Approach
Lynette welcomes clients of all ages, with a special focus on children and youth. She has experience supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal issues, relational conflict, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, and grief and loss. Lynette's therapeutic approach is client-centred and eclectic, integrating Narrative, Solution-Focussed, Attachment, and Acceptance and Commitment theories, to provide tailored support to a client's unique journey. Central to her practice is the belief in the importance of the therapeutic relationship, which she nurtures with warmth, empathy and unconditional acceptance.

Experience
Lynette’s passion for mental health support began when she volunteered with the local Crisis Line while completing her undergraduate degree. This experience sparked her deep commitment to helping others, which led to her role at Campbell River Family Services. Over the years, Lynette has worked extensively with children, families, and groups, offering support through individual counseling, group programs, and community-based initiatives designed to build resilience and promote mental well-being.
Lynette’s professional training includes expertise in several evidence-based modalities, including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Additionally, she is trained in trauma-informed care, ensuring that her approach is sensitive to the needs of individuals who have experienced trauma. This diverse training allows Lynette to tailor her therapeutic approach to each person and group she works with, providing compassionate, effective support in a safe, empathetic environment.
Her work is guided by a belief in the healing power of community and her dedication to helping others lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Qualifications
As a certified clinical counsellor, Lynette holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Psychology with Honours from the University of British Columbia, and a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She is certified by both the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). This means that she has met the required standards by each of these registering bodies. She has over 18 years experience supporting people with their mental health.
